I’m Benjamin Large, founder and main artist of Sc·EYE·nce Illustrations!
I have always loved graphic design, but it took me a while to realise that this had to be my job. After a PhD in Damien Prim’s team (Versailles – France) on C-H activation and synthesis of extended polycyclic architectures, and then a postdoc in Anne Duhme-Klair’s team (York – UK) on artificial metalloenzymes, I finally decided to approach research from a slightly different direction and start my own business as a scientific illustrator!
In 2023 I founded Sc-EYE-nce and started creating scientifically accurate visuals to help scientists communicate their work more effectively and in the most beautiful way! My aim is to make science more accessible to the non-scientist with stunning artwork, captivating animations and eye-catching diagrams.
Every day, the visuals I create help researchers win grants, publish papers with higher impact, and spark interest in their work. Do you want to be the next one?
